The kids at Mise En Scenesters are starting 2013 with “Nothing Lasts Forever,” a crazy flick from the 80’s that’s been out of print for years. Hey, it’s got Bill Murray.
Here’s what Chris has to say about the event:
MES are extremely pleased to be making our 2013 return with a film that’s truly something special. Barely released during it’s initial run in 1984 and never in print on VHS or DVD in America NOTHING LASTS FOREVER is a genuine treasure that deserves to be seen by a much wider audience. Featuring fun performances from the likes of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Zach Galligan (you’ll remember him as the fella from Gremlins) and a battyplot that eventually leads to the moon, this is a flick that will give you the giggles, expand your mind and possibly make you re-think your whole position on art.
Speaking of mind expanding! After the film attendees will be treated to a special post-screening performance by our mystically minded pals tHE HEARtS IN LIGHt. The HIL are fresh off the release of their new double-LP ASCEND and as long-time MES supporters you can expect them to bring their absolute a-game to their set.
You won’t find an evening this strange anywhere else in our fair city kiddos so saddle up and help MES ring in the new year with the first in a new film series we’re calling FORGOTTEN FLICKS.
Just 5 BUCKS!!!!

And finally, here’s the poster I designed for the event. It’s pretty bare bones, and a stretch from what I normally do.
